ABOUT US

The inspiration for The Archivist originated from a collective of passionate individuals who observed a significant lack of high quality, men's vintage clothing shops, both in brick-and-mortar locations and online.
We were connoisseurs of unique vintage pieces, particularly those from renowned Japanese and Italian brands such as Comme Des Garçons, Issey Miyake, Stussy or even Stone Island.

Our love for these brands, combined with our desire to preserve the essence of timeless fashion, led us to embark on this exciting venture.

On November 28, 2018, we launched our Instagram account, rightly named "The Archivist Store," paying homage to our mission of curating and archiving exceptional vintage clothing finds. With each carefully selected piece, we sought to tell a story and bring a touch of nostalgia to our clientele.

Our journey reached a pivotal moment on March 9, 2019, when we organized our first pop-up store in Tokyo, Japan. Fashion enthusiasts and collectors flocked to experience The Archivist's carefully curated collection with a unique selection of Stone Island vintage pieces. Encouraged by our desire to satisfy our French customers, we returned to our homeland and organized our first pop-up store in Paris, inside the infamous Marché Paul-Bert Serpette, on September 28, 2019.

On December 11, 2020, we held our second pop-up store, further establishing our presence and garnering a loyal following, continuing to do so with our third and fourth pop-up store, held in what was previously a contemporary art gallery.

Amidst our successful pop-ups, The Archivist decided to venture into original creations, introducing our first-ever original product, the "Oni Bag," on May 28, 2022. This multifunctional bag quickly became a symbol of The Archivist's commitment to blending vintage aesthetics with contemporary design.

On December 17, 2022, when we proudly opened our permanent shop, located in the heart of the 10th arrondissement of Paris. The shop became a haven for fashion aficionados, where they could peruse racks filled with carefully sourced vintage garments combined with a meticulous choice of tableware, fashion magazines or even high jewelry.

The Archivist gradually became synonymous with vintage excellence, a destination where the past was revived and celebrated through meticulously chosen pieces. With our passion and dedication we transformed our love for vintage fashion into an intimate and personal story.
